1993 | Built on a Strong Foundation
Centric has evolved from a small, family-owned business in Montgomery County, Texas, into one of the fastest-growing last-mile fiber-optic and natural gas infrastructure providers in the U.S.
Founded in 1993 through its subsidiary Universal Natural Gas, LLC, Centric initially focused on natural gas services along Texas’ FM 1488 corridor. In 2018, recognizing rapid growth in single-family land development on the outskirts of major cities, Centric secured private equity funding to disrupt markets underserved by large utility incumbents.
2020 | Disrupted the Telecommunications Market
In 2020, Centric responded to developer frustrations with telecommunications infrastructure by founding Centric Fiber. By fall 2020, Centric Fiber launched its first community-based network in partnership with Lennar Homes in San Antonio, TX, expanding quickly into major Texas metro areas. By 2021, Centric contracted 85,000 lots and partnered with leading builders and master-planned communities.
